Here's Resolution: 16 Year-Old Goes to Iraq Alone for the Sake of Journalism
A highschool boy from Florida secretly planned and carried out a trip to Baghdad within the past three weeks. His parents had no knowledge of his trip until he was gone, but didn't seem too surprised, as his mom said she thought this was the first of his adventures to come. The boy was described by a friend as very intellectual, and his mother said he spent much of his time reading and partcipating in the debate team at school as well as a republican party club. His trip was partially inspired by a form of journalism he recently discovered called "immersion", in which a reporter lives the life of those he's writing about. I think down deep this kid's got something many of us lack: resolution. Of course, he's also a bit foolish and naive I should say. Still, one can't but marvel.
